SANAM

Rundown of the old and the new - the primal and the futuristic - a collage of tracks that inspired SANAM's new record Sametou Sawtan with a heavy focus on (but not limited to) regional musics. The set is curated by Sandy Chamoun and Anthony Sahyoun of SANAM.

N.B. some tracks in the set were released after Sametou Sawtan, this is purely coincidental.

SANAM is a Beirut-based sextet that merges psych/kraut, improv/skronk, electronics, goth, and jazz elements with traditional Egyptian song and modern Arabic poetry in a compelling brew of widescreen hybrid avant-rock.
